Wade Davison

Co-Head Coach

A Winnipeg native, Wade Davison grew up playing Winnipeg AAA Hockey before advancing to the junior ranks across Western Canada, playing for the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League, the Lloydminster Blazers of the Alberta Junior Hockey League, and the Vernon Vipers of the British Columbia Hockey League.  Davison finished his playing career with the University of Manitoba Bisons.  Davison holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manitoba, and a Juris Doctor from the University of North Dakota School of Law.  Davison has worked as a litigator for the majority of the last seven years, and currently serves as general counsel for a number of North Dakota based energy companies.  Davison is the author of His Last Shift: The Playbook of Todd Davison - Through Hockey, Cancer, and the Journey Beyond Himself -- a biography about his brother Todd's 20-year life. 

 

Davison was an assistant coach for Legacy High School boy's hockey last season (2022-2023), and a head coach with the Dakota Warriors Hockey Club. He has held a variety of coaching and instructing positions over the last twenty-plus years, including working with junior, college and professional prospects at the RINK Training Centre and Total Hockey Centre/Focus Fitness in Winnipeg.     

 

Davison lives in Mandan with his wife Samantha, their son Bodhi, and their dog Mari. Away from home or the rink, Davison's favorite place to be is on the golf course.

Ryan Faragher

Co-Head Coach

A Fort Frances, Ontario native, Faragher grew up playing AA hockey for the Fort Frances Minor Hockey Association before moving to Thunder Bay, ON to play AAA hockey for the Thunder Bay Kings during his time in high school. Upon completing his playing career in minor hockey, Faragher joined the Fort Frances Sabers Jr. A hockey club in the SIJHL. He would play two seasons with the Sabers before moving to Bismarck in 2009 to play for the Bismarck Bobcats of the NAHL. After his Jr. hockey eligibility expired in 2011, Faragher went on to play three seasons of NCAA hockey for the Saint Cloud State Huskies before pursuing a professional playing career with the Anaheim Ducks. While playing professionally, Faragher worked under the tutelage of many current NHL and AHL coaches in Norfolk, VA, Salt Lake City, Utah, Boise, ID, San Diego, CA and Stockton, CA. After retiring from professional hockey, Faragher and his family returned to Bismarck where he would complete his teaching degree through Dickinson State University.

 

Faragher has been an assistant coach with the Legacy Sabers hockey team since it’s inception in 2021. Prior to that, Faragher coached and advised several different teams and individuals from both the Bismarck area and his hometown of Fort Frances. Most recently, Faragher has been a goalie coach/high school coach for Vision Hockey and started his own goalie coaching business - Faragher Goalie Development. Aside from hockey, Faragher has been employed by BPS as a Social Studies teacher at Legacy High School, where he teaches Global Studies and U.S History.

Tre Kautzman

Assistant Coach

Tre Kautzman is a Bismarck, ND native and a Bismarck High School hockey alumnus.  Kautzman was a member of the 2014 Bismarck High team that won the ND Boys State Hockey championship.  He attended college at the University of North Dakota and currently works as an accountant in the Bismarck area.  This is Kautzman's 4th year of coaching and 2nd with the Bismarck Legacy Sabers.

Grant Skibicki

Assistant Coach

Grant Skibicki, a Bismarck native, is entering his 2nd year of coaching at Legacy.  Skibicki played hockey from ages 8-18 in Bismarck starting with Mites through Bantams in the Bismarck Hockey program and then transitioning into his high school career at Century High School.  While at CHS, Skibicki was fortunate to be a part of the State Runner-Up team in 2017-18 as well as winning a WDA championship. After his playing career, Skibicki hung up the skates and picked up a whistle. While not at the rink, Skibicki is currently in his first year of teaching Physical Education at Liberty Elementary.
